A 19-year-old woman was airlifted to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries following a tubing accident in Bracebridge.
Ontario Provincial Police say around 1 p.m. Sunday three young ladies were being towed around the north end of Muldrew Lake in a tube when they entered a narrow part of the lake and began to turn around. Police said as the craft made the turn the tube exited the wake at a high rate of speed and struck a rock face.
The woman was airlifted to hospital from the scene. The two other riders suffered minor injuries.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Police are reminding everyone while operating a pleasure craft to be aware of their surroundings and be familiar with the waterways in which they enjoy their water sports responsibly.
