Kingston police investigate after lesbian couple threatened

Kingston Police are investigating after a lesbian couple received two threatening letters on Wednesday.

The letters, which urge the couple to “leave this city, before it is too late,” states that the anonymous group will provide BB guns to its younger members so they can “hunt you down.”

Chillingly, the letter states that the group has contacts in the police department.

Police were quick to respond, saying a report had been filed and they investigating the “serious and disturbing” allegations.

“While we absolutely believe no one from our organization would be associated, if the investigation determined otherwise, the member would be looking at Police Services Act charges & possibly criminal charges. We are taking this seriously,” police said.

The greater priority, police said, is solving the case.

The group said they are “dedicated to removing the scourge of homosexuality” and are affiliated with a “head office in the Deep South.”

“We feel that unless homosexuals reconvert to heterosexuality that life under this planet, under the umbrella of our Lord Jesus Christ, will become unbearable.”

Anyone with first-hand information, or anyone who has received similar letters, is asked to contact Detective Chris Gobeil at cgobeil@kpf.ca or at 613-549-4660 ext 6186.
