Teen arrested in Monarch Park stabbing

A 19-year-old is in custody after a stabbing at Monarch Park on July 22, 2013. CITYNEWS.

Toronto police have a 19-year-old man in custody after a stabbing at Monarch Park on Monday night.

Emergency crews were called to the park, near Danforth and Coxwell avenues, around 11:30 p.m.

There, they found a 17-year-old boy with a stab wound to his torso. He was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition, police said.

It’s not yet known why he was stabbed.

The 19-year-old is facing a number of charges, including aggravated assault.
