Man, 89, charged in 2 east-end sex assaults

Toronto police have charged an 89-year-old man with sexually assaulting two women in Leslieville.

A 25-year-old woman was at a laundromat near Queen and Greenwood avenues on Aug. 24, 2012, when she says she was attacked.

Last Saturday, a 78-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted near Queen and Greenwood.

Police released a security camera image of the suspect on Friday.

Shortly after, they arrested Hong Jun Wu of Toronto.

He’s facing two counts of sexual assault.

Const. Tony Vella told CityNews that Wu is a suspect, but hasn’t been charged, in a third sexual assault dating back to July 2011.

In that incident, a 26-year-old woman said she was sexually assaulted while she waited for a streetcar near Queen and Leslie streets.

Vella said the investigation is ongoing.
