Weather has forced Kim Lumsdon to abort swim across Lake Ontario.
The 56-year-old Toronto woman was attempting to become the oldest female to cross Lake Ontario.
Lumsdon was pulled out of the water by the Marine Unit around 4 p.m. Saturday due to a large storm on the water, making navigation difficult, a representative for the swimmer told CityNews.
Paramedics say she was then transported to a local hospital.
This is not the first time Lumsdon has swam these waters.
In 1976, at the age of 19, she became the eleventh person to swim Lake Ontario.
