Ontario Provincial Police Const. Lisa MacIntyre said a flat-bed truck and a straight truck collided on Highway 407 at Britannia Road around 7:30 a.m.
A third vehicle, a tractor-trailer, was also involved when the driver swerved to avoid the debris.
The three men inside the flat-bed truck were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the other truck also went to a local hospital. The passenger in that truck was airlifted to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto with serious injuries.
No one in the tractor-trailer was injured.
The westbound lanes of the highway were closed to Highway 403 for the investigation and are expected to remain closed until 2 p.m.
