Lindsay Lohan opens up about alcohol, cocaine to Oprah

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan, who has been out of rehab for less than a week, opened up about her alcohol addiction and cocaine use to Oprah Winfrey on Sunday.

“I don’t need to go to outside things or outside, you know, places or substances, to feel anything,” Lohan, 27, said in an interview that aired on the OWN network.

It was her first interview since her court-ordered 90-day stay in rehab.

Lohan told Oprah she had never addressed her ‘chaotic’ family life, despite attending therapy sessions for years.

She also said she was addicted to alcohol and used cocaine.

She was sentenced to rehab as part of a plea bargain stemming from a 2012 car crash. Her Porsche sports car smashed into a truck on June 8, 2012, in Santa Monica, California.

Lohan, who at the time was still on probation for a 2011 conviction for stealing a necklace, had faced the prospect of being sent to jail if she was convicted, or if she was deemed to have violated the terms of her 2011 probation.

The actress has been jailed or placed under house arrest for short periods numerous times since 2007, including three times in 2011. She has also spent at least five periods in rehab in the last six years.

Lohan’s latest movie, The Canyons, opened earlier this month. The movie was not a box office success but Lohan’s performance has been praised by critics.

She recently hosted late-night talk show Chelsea Lately and will be guest starring on the HBO comedy Eastbound & Down in the fall.
