Burlington fire fighters were called to a CIBC bank early Friday morning after a passerby noticed smoke coming from the building.
The fire began on the second floor of a building on Fairview Street just before 1 a.m.
No injuries have been reported.
The cost of the damage is estimated at $1.2 million. The Fire Marshal’s office has been called in because the loss is greater than $500,000.
It’s not yet known what caused the fire, but it’s not believed to be suspicious, officials said.
The investigation is ongoing.
