A 70-year-old man is facing fraud charges after being accused of defrauding several Yorkville residents of more than $600,000.
Police say the man, who frequented the affluent Toronto neighbourhood, portrayed himself as a prominent businessman and investment broker between February 2012 and August 2013.
He convinced people to invest in his company and allow him to invest on their behalf, defrauding them of $605,000.
He was the sole owner of the companies. Police believe there may be more victims.
Last Thursday, Albert Rosenberg of Toronto was arrested and charged with four counts of fraud over $5,000. He made a court appearance at College Park on Friday.
