Controversial expense claims have landed another politician in hot water.
Toronto-area MPP Peter Shurman has been removed from his position as PC finance critic, PC Leader Tim Hudak said in a statement on Sunday.
Hudak said the decision was made in connection to Shurman’s accommodation expense claims.
The Liberals and NDP have accused Shurman of exploiting a travel allowance loophole to fund his retirement home.
“I believe we have a responsibility to taxpayers to operate in their best interest,” Hudak said in the release. “As a demonstration of my commitment to this principle I have made the decision to remove Peter Shurman from his position as Finance Critic.
