He has dressed Claire Danes, Heidi Klum and Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha and now New York designer Zac Posen is planning his first-ever Canadian runway show.
Philanthropist Suzanne Rogers is bringing the show to Toronto next year, the third such event after this year’s Marchesa show and Oscar de la Renta in 2012.
“This evening will provide a unique opportunity to see Zac’s beautifully crafted pieces, known globally for their bold sophistication, sexy femininity and distinctive glamour,” Rogers said in a statement.
“I am so pleased that he accepted the invitation to come to Toronto and I truly appreciate his personal commitment and generosity to support our children’s charities.”
The April 2014 event – an exact date has yet to be determined – is a black tie event that will raise money for Boost Child Abuse Prevention & Intervention, a registered charity that works with children who have suffered abuse.
Other children’s charities will also receive funding from this event.
“We are proud to be part of the Suzanne Rogers’ fundraising gala,” Posen said. “I admire her ongoing commitment to children’s charities and look forward to showcasing my collection in support of such a phenomenal cause.”
Suzanne Rogers is the wife of Edward Rogers, deputy chairman of Rogers Communications Inc., which owns City, CityNews and CityNews.ca.
