Taylor Swift nominated for 6 CMA awards

Taylor Swift, fresh off the Toronto International Film Festival red carpet, awoke to six Country Music Association award nominations on Tuesday.

“What an excellent way to start the day. Thank you, guys. And thank you CMA,” she tweeted.

Newcomer Kacey Musgraves – who sings openly about marijuana and gay marriage – also has six nominations.

Both are up for album of the year and female vocalist,  and Swift is also nominated for entertainer of the year for the fourth time.

She won twice before.

Blake Shelton – the reigning entertainer of the year – is up for five awards, including entertainer of the year and male vocalist.

Miranda Lambert, who is married to Shelton, is also nominated for five awards, including female vocalist and single of the year.

The 47th Annual CMA awards will be hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley for the sixth consecutive year.

The show, broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, will air Nov. 6 on City.
