Toronto contractor arrested in connection with downtown sex assaults

Toronto Police have arrested a home-renovations contractor in connection with three alleged sexual assaults downtown.

Officers said in a news release that the man allegedly sexually assaulted a woman while doing work inside her home on three separate occasions. They also say there may be other victims.

A specific location of the attacks was not given. However, the release was issued by officers in 14 Division, which is the area bounded by Spadina Avenue, Dufferin Street, Dupont Street and Lake Ontario.

Jorge Leal, 53, faces five charges, including two counts of sexual assault, two counts of threatening death and sexual assault causing bodily harm

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Thursday.
