Ritchies will be auctioning off the contents of a Trump Tower luxury suite this Sunday.
The contents of the 12-floor suite will be available for public viewing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day, according to the auctioneer’s website.
The owner has decided to sell his $1 million suite, which is about 950 square feet, after noticing a dozen similar units in the building languished on the market for more than a year, the Toronto Star reported.
The auction was scheduled to be held at the Trump Hotel Ballroom but Kashif Khan, director of Ritchies, said in a press release Monday evening that the luxury hotel-condo pulled the plug after the event drew media attention.
Khan said the auction will now take place at the Ritchies Auction Warehouse at 777 Richmond Street West.
Ritchies said its last auction of a Bridle Path mansion attracted a bidding war for the home as well as contents, which sold for $5.4 million.
The contents of the latest auction include:
- Patek Philippe, Rolex, Cartier and Breitling watches
- 5 carat round white diamond
- 18 carat yellow diamond
- 2013 Bentley Continental convertible automobile
- Fine art from Canadian and international artists
- Fine Persian carpets
Because of the valuable items and security needs, the contents will only be available for viewing on Sunday.
Government photo ID and a credit card are required by all potential bidders, Ritchies said. The auction begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
