Worker pinned inside tipped over cement truck in Oakville: Police

A 34-year-old Guelph man is in hospital after a cement truck tipped over, pinning him inside.

Police were called to Dundas Street near Sixth Line in Oshawa shortly after noon Monday.

The driver was manoeuvring the truck to unload its contents when the truck rolled onto its side and down a shallow embankment, police say.

The cab of the vehicle was severely damaged, pinning the man inside.

The man remained under the truck for several hours as emergency crews attempted to free him.

He was then airlifted to hospital by ORNGE air ambulance in serious condition.

Dundas Street was closed to accommodate the air ambulance but has since reopened.
