With Halloween just around the corner, Halton police are trying to capitalize on the popularity of zombies.
The police service is hoping their new crime prevention initiative, which features zombies as criminals, will bring their message to a new generation.
Police unveiled a video and posters on Thursday encouraging people to lock up their vehicles and homes and to report suspicious people or activity.
The tagline is “Don’t be a Zombie to Crime Prevention.”
Police said everyone knows zombies aren’t the smartest creatures, so by using them in connection with the campaign…they hope that people will notice the message and outsmart these criminals.
The campaign is being launched as part of the annual Ontario Crime Prevention Week, which kicks off next month.
