‘Movember’ charity event starts Friday

Nov. 1 marks the start of “Movember” — a month-long event to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer.
Movember Canada director Pete Bombaci said it’s one of the most effective health care campaigns in the country.
“We know that from stats from past years, 75 per cent of men talked about their health during the month of November,” Bombaci said.
“Ninety per cent of them started to think about their health and did some research on their health. Just great stats getting them to realize they are not invincible.”
In 2012, $42 million was raised during Movember.
