2 dead in Hamilton crash

Two people are dead following a three-vehicle crash in Hamilton, Ontario provincial police tell CityNews.

The collision happened at Highway 6 and Upper James Street before 8 p.m. on Saturday.

OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford said two vehicles, a Chevrolet Cruze and a pickup truck, were travelling south on Hwy. 6. The driver of a Honda was heading north on Hwy. 6 when it swerved into the southbound lanes and hit the truck.

The man and woman from the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.

A man and a woman in the truck were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Cruze, a woman, was taken to a local hospital, but her injuries are not life-threatening.

Hwy. 6 is closed at Upper James for the investigation.
