Ryerson University has suspended its men’s hockey team for one week after they were found drinking while on a New Jersey road trip.
The coach, Graham Wise, was also suspended and a part-time coach was let go. Drinking on road trips is against the student-athlete code of conduct.
“Our student athletes and coaches have taken responsibility for their actions,” athletic director Anthony Ivan Joseph said in a statement on Monday.
“We are in the process of educating our students and we look forward to getting back on the game of hockey.”
