Unlike the summer show, Beyonce had more material to draw from on Monday night, performing songs from her recently released album Beyonce.

The album that appeared by surprise on iTunes on Friday and quickly became the fastest-selling record in iTunes history. Apple confirmed Monday that Beyonce had sold 828,773 copies in three days.

Beyonce was released in a move that took even industry insiders by surprise. There was no lead single and Beyonce did not appear on television to promote the album. Instead, she recorded videos during her world tour — including stops in Paris, Brazil and her hometown of Houston — and released the album while still on the road.

The singer called it a “visual” album, unleashing 17 videos to go with the 14 songs.

Her husband Jay Z and their daughter Blue Ivy appear on the album, as does Canadian rapper Drake.

Beyonce’s record label Sony/Columbia said a physical copy of the album, in both CD and DVD, will be available before Christmas.
