Toronto police investigate 3 overnight shootings

Toronto police are investigating three overnight shootings, one of which left a man in critical condition. The shootings are not connected.

The first happened around 11 p.m. on Wednesday on Lavery Trail, in the Meadowvale Road and Highway 401 area.

The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was shot multiple times. A suspect description has not been released.

Police say several high-powered rifle rounds were located at the scene.

The second shooting left a man with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The victim was shot in the arm around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday. The bullet broke his arm and entered his chest. The shooting happened near Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue.

Toronto police say he was dropped off at a north end hospital in a car and the driver left the hospital.

The third shooting happened at a restaurant near Finch and Midland avenues around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The victim, a 31-year-old man, was shot in the leg but later walked into hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
There’s no word on suspects in any of the three shootings.
