Kindergarten registration begins Wednesday at Toronto Catholic elementary schools.

Children who were born in 2010 will be accepted, the Toronto Catholic District School Board said Monday.

The TCDSB has introduced a new online application system for parents at soar.tcdsb.org. Parents will still be required to visit their child’s school with the following documents:

  • child’s birth certificate (certificate of citizenship or landed immigrant status)
  • child’s catholic Baptismal certificate (or other proof of Catholicity)
  • immunization record
  • proof of residency in Toronto (such as a utility bill)

Registration can also be done in person.  The board’s 167 elementary schools will host an evening registration session during the month of January. Parents are asked to phone their local Catholic school for specific dates and times. The four documents listed above must be brought to that registration session.

The TCDSB will have full-day kindergarten in all schools beginning September 2014.

For French Immersion registration, which begins in senior kindergarten, and extended French, which begins in Grade 5, the board will hold information sessions in of January, February, March and April.
