Search continues for missing Whitby man

Police are still searching for 52-year-old teacher Jeffrey Boucher. The Whitby man hasn’t been seen or heard from since leaving his house to go for a jog on Monday.

Police are focusing their search on the grounds around their command post on Whitburn Street in the Taunton and Brock area.

“Walkways, things like that, as far as the gulleys and ravines. We’re just going over the same area up to a five kilometre radius,” said Insp. Nick Lisi at a press conference Saturday.

Lisi said Durahm police officers have been joined by members of the Ontario Volunteer Emergency Response Team for the full scale search.

“I think we still have to focus on ground zero here. I think we would be remiss as a police service if we weren’t sure that we’d gone through this whole area. As you can tell this is a very complex geographic area of Whitby,” said Lisi.

Investigators say the massive search will continue for at least the next several days.
