Seahawks trounce Broncos to win Super Bowl

The Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl champions after beating the Denver Broncos 43-8.

Confetti filled MetLife stadium as Seattle dominated Denver in New Jersey.

Linebacker Malcolm Smith returned an interception of Peyton Manning 69 yards for a touchdown late in the first half Sunday, and Percy Harvin returned the opening kickoff of the second half 87 yards for another TD.

The Seahawks were up 36-0 in the third when the Broncos finally made it on the board.

Quarterback Russell Wilson is the fourth starting to win a Super Bowl in his second NFL season.

Manning was 34 of 49 for 280 yards, but most of that came after Seattle had all but put the game away.
