Lawyers for suspended senator Patrick Brazeau will be in a Gatineau, Que. courtroom on Friday.
Brazeau, a former member of the Conservative caucus, is facing assault and sexual assault charges in connection with an incident more than a year ago at a home where he was living at the time.
The charges are unrelated to Brazeau’s other legal troubles in connection with his expense claims, which led to his expulsion from the upper chamber, along with fellow former Conservatives Mike Duffy and Pamela Wallin.
Brazeau is not expected to be in the courtroom.
