Subway closure this weekend for TTC signal work

For those heading into downtown Toronto this weekend and planning to take public transit, keep in mind that there’s a subway closure.

Starting at 6 a.m. on Saturday, subways won’t be running along the Yonge-University-Spadina line between Bloor and St. Andrew stations, including a shutdown of the Union subway station, for TTC signal upgrade work.

Trains will only run between Finch and Bloor stations and between Downsview and St. Andrew stations.

Frequent shuttle buses will be running.

Regular subway service resumes at 6 a.m. Monday.

The TTC also plans to close the same section of the subway for signal work on the weekend of March 22-23 and April 5-6.

The TTC released a detailed YouTube video outlining the signal upgrade process.
