Mississauga woman stabbed on morning walk

A 53-year-old Mississauga woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a seemingly unprovoked attack early Sunday morning.

The woman was out for a morning walk when she was approached by a man and stabbed once in the stomach.

The incident occurred in the McLaughlin Road and Eglinton Avenue West area just before 6 a.m., Peel police told CityNews.

The suspect fled immediately. Initial reports describe the suspect as a black male wearing dark clothing and something covering his face.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately five-feet-two-inches tall, wearing dark clothing with his face covered.

As this was an unprovoked attack, and the suspect and victim are unknown to each other, Peel Police are urging residents in the area to be cautious when walking outside and report any suspicious activity immediately.
