Funeral to be held Wednesday for man killed in Dovercourt fire

A funeral will be held on Wednesday for a man killed in an apartment fire last week.

Jordan Boyer, 22, was one of three people who died after the fire on Dovercourt Road and Dupont Street early morning on Feb. 7.

Alysia Graham, 21, and Katie Charron were also killed. A fourth person remains in hospital.

A visitation for Boyer will be held on Tuesday and his funeral is on Wednesday. Both will take place at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home in Georgetown.

Funeral dates for Graham and Charron have not yet been set.

According to firefighters, there were no working smoke detectors on the second floor, where the victims were found.

Smoke detectors were working on the main floor.

The cause of the fire and the cost of the damage are not yet known. However, early estimates put the cost of the fire at around $100,000. There were no signs of hoarding and no evidence of criminality.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
