New video surfaces showing Ford swearing & stumbling outside City Hall

Mayor Ford refused to answer questions Monday about a new video that has surfaced, apparently showing him stumbling and swearing in front of city hall on Saturday night.

Ford darted out the door without speaking to reporters who gathered at the Old Mill Inn, where the mayor enjoyed a St. Patrick’s Day brunch with his brother, Coun. Doug Ford.

“You guys just keep knocking him,” Coun. Ford said. “That’s all right, we’ve got the people out there that support him.

“A lot of people love Rob Ford because he’s got the city booming. Why don’t you guys (media) be honest, why don’t you look in the mirror each and every one of you?”

Ford was first confronted about the video during his attendance at the St. Patrick`s day parade on Sunday afternoon. When asked if he had been drinking or partying the night before, he quickly dismissed reporters. “Come on, lets move on please,” Ford said.

The new video, which according to a media report was shot by a Mississauga teen Saturday night, showed Ford speaking strangely and swearing loudly while trying to hail a cab in front of city hall.

CityNews couldn’t independently confirm that the video is from Saturday night.

Coun. Peter Milczyn said he wasn’t surprised by the latest headlines about the mayor.

“It’s par for the course so nothing is surprising anymore.”

And mayoral candidate John Tory said he didn’t want to comment about the video. “I’m interested in talking about the future of the city,” he said.

In February, Ford told NBC’s Today show that while he has had some drinks since swearing off alcohol and drugs last last year, he no longer uses drugs.

In 2013, Ford admitted to smoking crack cocaine while in a “drunken stupor” and has allegedly been seen drunk in public various times since taking office — include a few incidents caught on video.
