Man targeted in Downsview-area shooting: police

Police are searching for a suspect after a shooting in the city’s northwest end, on the border of Downsview.

A 23-year-old man was shot multiple times in the chest outside Dilly’s Sports Bar in the Wilson Avenue and Dufferin Street area around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Toronto police said the victim was sitting in a car when he was approached by a man and shot four times. Officers said it appears the victim was targeted.

“The victim was able to crawl out of his car and collapsed out in front of the bar,” Sgt. Lawrence Sager said on Sunday.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are looking for a man seen fleeing in a grey minivan. He was wearing a white painter’s suit and a white mask covering his face.
