2nd Canada Post worker accused of stealing from Burlington depot

Halton police have arrested a second Canada Post worker, accused of stealing from a mail depot in Burlington.

Susan Patricia Shantz, 61, of Hamilton, was arrested Monday and charged with breach of trust, using a forged document, falsifying an employment record and identity theft.

Police say parcels were stolen from the depot on Guelph Line near Upper Middle Road, but did not say when the items were stolen.

Investigators carried out two search warrants in March and recovered almost $9,000 in stolen property.

Items include small electronics and accessories including cordless phones, headphones, speakers, watches and PlayStation accessories.

Thomas Davis, 32, of Burlington, is already charged with break, enter and theft; theft of mail, theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

The investigation is ongoing.
