1 in hospital after Jane & Eglinton fire

One person is in hospital after a fire at an apartment building near Jane Street and Eglinton Avenue West on Thursday.

Several other units in the Emmett Avenue building were evacuated around 3:30 a.m.

The fire began on the fourth floor but it’s not yet known what started it.

Toronto firefighters had the blaze knocked down by 5:30 a.m.

The man is being treated for smoke inhalation and is expected to recover.
