5 injured in Caledon multi-vehicle collision

Five people are in hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after a multi-vehicle collision in Caledon.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Airport Road near King Street Tuesday evening.

Caledon OPP say they have yet to determine the cause of the collision.

“It’s believed a southbound motor vehicle was rear-ended and then struck by another vehicle northbound,” explained Acting Sgt. Matt Storey.

One person has been airlifted to Sunnybrook hospital in critical condition.

Four others were transported to local hospitals with undisclosed injuries.

Airport Road is expected to be closed between King Street and Old School Road for several hours while police investigate.
