LIVE BLOG: Ford takes leave as scandal widens

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is facing more shocking allegations after several new recordings surfaced, reportedly showing Ford smoking what appears to be crack cocaine and making racist and sexist remarks.

In one video, Ford appears to be holding a small brass pipe, according to a report in the Globe and Mail. That video was allegedly filmed on Saturday.

The Toronto Sun reports that in a separate audio tape that was allegedly taken at a bar on Monday, Ford can be heard making sexual comments about councillor and fellow mayoral candidate Karen Stintz. Stintz called the remarks misogynistic. Ford also appeared to use a slur against Italians.

Ford has since taken a leave of absence from city hall and was last seen leaving his Etobicoke home with his nephew on Thursday morning. Follow the live blog below:
