680News Father Daughter Ball raises money for prostate cancer research

It was a night for Dads to treat their little girls like princesses while raising money and awareness for a good cause.

The 680News third annual Father Daughter Ball took place Saturday night at One King West Hotel. The event was in support of prostate cancer research.

The evening is dedicated to fathers and their daughters aged 6 to 12.

CEO of Prostate Cancer Canada Rocco Rossi says the ball is a very special family event.

“It’s an evening to generate memories for these daughters and their dads at their first formal dance,” said Rossi. “They’re decked out. It’s a great evening with a lot of love and the funds raised are dedicated to Prostate Cancer Canada.”

Rossi says men need to take on the responsibility of getting their prostate checked.

“One man in seven will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime,” he explained. “It’s important to take care of your heath – for themselves and for their family.”

The event was hosted by 680News music reporter Rudy Blair and included dinner, music and giveaways.
