Toronto Public Health is launching a free limited-edition condom that will be available next month.
The condom called condomTO will be available after June 4 at city bars, clubs, hotels, gyms and clinics across the city. Click here to view a map of locations where it will be available.
The public health department said in a brief posting on its website that the city condom program follows the similar campaigns of New York City and Los Angeles that were successful. Click here and here to read about their programs.
“Use a new condom every time you have oral, anal or vaginal sex,” the department said in the post. “Condoms decrease the risk of STIs (sexually transmitted infections), HIV and/or unplanned pregnancy.”
A health official wasn’t immediately available to comment on Tuesday.
