OPP officer injured in single-vehicle Augus crash

An OPP officer is in serious condition after being involved in a single-vehicle collision near Angus, Ontario provincial police said.
The collision occurred on County Road 10 at the 4th line Essa just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
The officer, who was in an unmarked cruiser but on duty at the time, drove his car into a tree. He was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The officer has been airlifted to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. The OPP wouldn’t say it the injuries are life-threatening pending notification of the officer’s family.
Police are asking for witnesses to the collision to contact Nottawasaga OPP.
