Federal byelection advance polls open in Trinity-Spadina, Scarborough-Agincourt

Advance polls opened Friday in four federal byelections, including two in Toronto and two in Alberta.

Trinity-Spadina and Scarborough-Agincourt voters can head to advance polls June 20, 21, and 23.

The election is set for June 30.

Liberal candidate Adam Vaughan is urging voters to use advance polls ahead of the election day, which falls on the Monday before the Candda Day holiday when many people may be out of town.

“June 20th, 21st, and 23rd are very important days for our campaign. We are urging voters to get out to the advance polls,” said Vaughan in a press release.

Olivia Chow stepped down as the NDP MP for Trinity-Spadina to join the Toronto mayoral election, and Jim Karygiannis, the longtime Liberal MP for Scarborough-Agincourt, stepped aside to run for Mike Del Grande’s seat on city council.

Vaughan is facing off against NDP candidate Joe Cressy for Chow’s old seat.
