Premier Kathleen Wynne says it’s a miracle no one was seriously injured during the tornado that tore through Angus, Ont.
Wynne says she was surprised by the extent of the damage and devastation she witnessed on a tour of the neighbourhood on Friday.
Residents who met with the premier told her they were thrilled with the initial response and the way the community pulled together.
Wynne says most people just want to know when — or if — they can return to their homes.
She says it’ll be a while before it’s determined if provincial disaster relief funding will be needed to help homeowners with things not covered by insurance.
The tornado swept through the community about 100 kilometres north of Toronto on Tuesday afternoon.
