6 accused of stealing dozens of Canada flags near Belleville

Police believe they have cracked the case of the stolen Canada flags.
The Quinte West OPP arrested six people – including two minors – for stealing approximately 40 Canada flags in Batawa, Ont, about 30 minutes northwest of Belleville.
Police say that overnight on Canada Day, the flags were stolen and their poles were damaged. The total damage was estimated at $2,000. All the flags have since been recovered.
Four adults – including three males and one female – have been arrested and charged with obstructing police, mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
Two young people – a boy and a girl – were also arrested and charged.
The six will appear in court in August.
