Man, 27, accused of posing as Toronto teacher

Update May 27, 2020: The charges against Bayol Avah were withdrawn Feb. 22, 2015.
A 27-year-old Toronto man is accused of posing as a teacher to gain entry to a number of Toronto schools.
Police say from the beginning of April until early June the man convinced staff at five different TDSB schools he was a certified teacher and worked as an educational or special needs assistant in classrooms.
No students were hurt, but police believe the man may have targeted other schools.
The schools involved were all in the east end of the city: Inglewood Heights Junior Public School, H.A. Halbert Junior Public School, Ionview Public School, Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute and Centennial Road Junior Public School.
Bayol Avah was charged with five counts of personation to gain advantage.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 9.
