James Hinchcliffe accepts CityNews’ Ice Bucket Challenge

Race car driver James Hinchcliffe answered the CityNews call to douse himself with ice water to raise awareness and cash for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Hinchcliffe was nominated by CityNews reporter Danielle Michaud.

“I was challenged to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by pretty much the entire staff of CityNews Toronto,” Hinchcliffe says in his video posted to YouTube.

Hinchcliffe took the challenge from Milwaukee Indyfest.

He then issued his own challenges to Canadian tennis player Milos Raonic and Australian Formula 1 racer Daniel Ricciardo.

Raonic quickly took to Twitter to accept the challenge.

This comes just a few days after Toronto-born Montreal Canadiens star P.K. Subban endured an epic Ice Bucket Challenge live on CityNews. Subban was doused with a dump truck full of ice water after issuing a challenge for Leafs star Phil Kessel, Raptors ambassador and 416 rap sensation Drake, Canadiens owner Geoff Molson, and President of Sportsnet and NHL Properties for Rogers, Scott Moore.

Earlier, CityNews reporters Danielle Michaud, Stella Acquisto, Cynthia Mulligan, Shauna Hunt, and Amanda Ferguson, all put on their game faces for the cause.

They all took the challenge to raise funds and awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
