Website owner to stand trial over grisly video associated with Magnotta case

An Edmonton website owner accused of posting a video allegedly showing the dismemberment and slaying of a university student in Montreal has been ordered to stand trial.
A judge has ruled Mark Marek will go to trial on a charge of publishing obscene matter.
He is to appear in court next month to set a trial date.
Police say Marek was operating the website called bestgore.com that posted a video titled “1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick” in 2012.
The video allegedly shows the killing of Chinese student Jun Lin, whose body parts were later mailed across Canada.
Luka Rocco Magnotta faces several charges, including first-degree murder. He is to stand trial before a jury later this month in Montreal.
