Clinton, Ont., fatal shooting victim VP at Toronto-based construction company

The man shot and killed near Clinton, Ont., in the municipality of Central Huron, was Don Frigo, the Ontario provincial police said on Monday. Frigo was reportedly the vice-president of a Toronto-based construction company.

Hady Construction Associates is a company with two offices in the city, including one in Etobicoke.

The OPP said Frigo and a woman, reportedly his wife, were horseback riding on Saturday near a wildlife conservation area, located 200 km west of Toronto. They were approached by a male who shot them around 5 p.m.

The woman is suffering from minor injuries.

Police cruisers guarded several dirt access roads leading to the wildlife area. Investigators also cordoned off a large area outside on the outskirts of town.

There were reports of residents being ordered to stay inside with their doors locked; however, the OPP said that wasn’t the case.

Jamie Stanley, a spokesman for the Huron OPP, said on Sunday that there were asking residents to be a “little more cautious.”

Police searched the area on Saturday night but did not find a suspect.

Clinton, a community of 3,100, is about 200 kilometres west of Toronto.
