Man arrested for mischief on plane at Pearson

A 22-year-old man has been arrested after being removed from a plane at Pearson Airport.

The airline says the flight’s 161 passengers were boarding the plane ahead of its scheduled 8:55 a.m. departure for London when one passenger “became concerned” by the comments of another passenger and alerted the crew.

Air Canada spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick says the airline’s security and police were called.

Acting Sgt. Thomas Ruttan says the man’s baggage was also removed from the plane after the incident.

Ruttan says another man voluntarily left the plane because he was nervous about what was happening, but later returned to the aircraft before it was cleared for takeoff.

Police say the incident did not affect other operations at the airport.

The flight, AC 868, was scheduled to depart at 8:55 a.m. and departed at 11:11 a.m.

Sohill Agha, 22, of Mississauga, has been charged with two counts of mischief and will appear in court Oct. 27.
