3 vehicles crash into poles in separate incidents overnight

At least three people were rushed to hospital in three separate crashes — all involving a car slamming into a pole. Alcohol is believed to be factor in two cases.
Around midnight a car crashed in the area of Islington and Finch avenues. The driver was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police say alcohol is a factor in the investigation, but so far there has been no word on any charges.
Just before midnight a car hit a pole on The Westway, at Royal York Road, south of Dixie Road. Two people, including the driver, were taken to hospital. The 21-year-old driver was arrested for impaired driving.
And just before 5 a.m. a vehicle struck a pole on Brookhaven Drive, near Lawrence Avenue just west of Black Creek Drive. No serious injuries were reported.
