Large branch injures children's caregiver in the Beach

A caregiver suffered serious injuries when a large branch struck her and two young children in Toronto’s Beach neighbourhood.

Police say they were called to the scene in the Queen Street East and Victoria Park Avenue area shortly before noon on Wednesday.

The woman was pushing a stroller with two young children along Glen Manor Drive when the branch came down.

She suffered injuries to her head and hand. The children were not injured.

High winds are believed to be a factor in the incident.

City workers have been called in to remove the branch.
