Burnt body found under bridge near Mount Pleasant

Toronto police are investigating after a burnt body was found under a bridge in midtown Toronto.

Police say they were called to the scene near St. Clair Avenue East and Inglewood Drive, west of Mount Pleasant Road, around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday for reports of smoke coming from underneath the bridge.

When paramedics arrived, they found a badly burned body at the scene, surrounded by candles and spray paint cans.

The victim has not yet been identified.

Police say they’re waiting for the results of an autopsy to rule out foul play.
