Man, 56, accused of robbing 2 TTC collectors

A Toronto man has been arrested for allegedly robbing two TTC collectors this month.

On Oct. 15, a TTC collector, 38, was at the Wellesley subway station when he was robbed by a man who threatened the employee and demanded cash. The suspect fled after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.

On Friday, another TTC collector, 45, was robbed, apparently by the same man at the Rosedale subway station around 7:15 p.m. The thief fled with an undisclosed amount of money but was arrested by TTC security officers.

He was then handed over to the Toronto police’s hold-up squad.

Mohamed Nur Hassan, 56, faces two counts of robbery and possession of property obtained by crime.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.
