Natura Pet Products has recalled certain dry cat and dry ferret food because of a “formulation error,” which means the food has insufficient levels of vitamins and an excess amount of minerals.
The recall affects the EVO brand, which is sold in Canada and the United States.
Lack of vitamins for a long period of time can lead to illness in pets. Signs of vitamin deficiency can include decreased appetite, lethargy, vomiting and weight loss.
Pet owners should stop feeding the affected products to their pets and throw out the food.
So far, no animal illness have been reported.
